Spicy Penne Pasta
Ingredients
- 3 tbs red pepper flakes
- 1 large onions chopped
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 3 15 oz petite diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup vodka
- 3 tbs fresh basil
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 package penne pasta we use gluten free
- 2 TBS olive oil
- Salt and Pepper to Taste
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions. Toss with 1 TBS olive oil and set aside.
- In large skillet brown ground meat, season with salt and pepper. Remove and set aside. Add 1 TBS olive oil diced onions and garlic and cook through. Add vodka and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add in tomatoes, basil and parsley and red pepper. Simmer for 10-15 minutes to combine flavors. Add the heavy cream. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Mix together pasta, meat and sauce and top with additional fresh basil.
