Spicy Penne Pasta

Ingredients
  

  • 3 tbs red pepper flakes
  • 1 large onions chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 3 15 oz petite diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup vodka
  • 3 tbs fresh basil
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 package penne pasta we use gluten free
  • 2 TBS olive oil
  • Salt and Pepper to Taste

Instructions
 

  • Cook pasta according to package directions. Toss with 1 TBS olive oil and set aside.
  • In large skillet brown ground meat, season with salt and pepper. Remove and set aside. Add 1 TBS olive oil diced onions and garlic and cook through. Add vodka and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add in tomatoes, basil and parsley and red pepper. Simmer for 10-15 minutes to combine flavors. Add the heavy cream. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Mix together pasta, meat and sauce and top with additional fresh basil.
